ANGUS BROWN

Angus Brown is an Australian artist based in Narrm/Melbourne whose practice extends photography into sculptural and spatial territory. Working beyond the flat image plane, he introduces material interventions that increase the physical presence of photographic outcomes, positioning them as object-based works.

Brown's practice interrogates material behaviour, industrial systems and process-led aesthetics, often through assemblage and real-world interventions that destabilise conventional readings of photography. By reconfiguring images as materially active forms, Brown explores how perception shifts when photography becomes spatially contingent.

Brown holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Monash University and completed Honours at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2024. Since 2021, he has exhibited across Victoria and New South Wales, including at Caves, MRAC and Seventh.
