FAITH SPENCER

Faith Spencer is an Australian artist based in Narrm/Melbourne whose practice explores ephemeral moments and states of transition. Grounded in lived experience, her work considers the transformative and atmospheric qualities of moving light, translating fleeting observations into studies of perception, sensation and memory.

Working primarily with oil paint and gouache, Spencer builds compositions through layered washes of colour that evoke shifting light and atmosphere. Her practice is a continuous study of perception through imagined looking, exploring how transient experiences can be recalled and reinterpreted through the process of painting.

Spencer holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from RMIT University, completed in 2022, and currently works from a studio in Fitzroy North. Since graduating, she has participated in multiple group exhibitions and presented two solo exhibitions.
