MADDI O'KANE

Maddi O'Kane is a Narrm/Melbourne-based ceramicist working in handbuilt stoneware, where movement, gesture and the natural world are translated into sculptural form.

With a background in dance and costume design, her practice is shaped by rhythm, choreography and embodied expression. Drawing on moss, coral and coastal landscapes, her works are also informed by personal memory and a childhood spent on the Victorian coast. She often works with single-firing processes to reduce environmental impact, underscoring a commitment to sustainable studio practice.

O'Kane is currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Art at RMIT University and is based at Shell Space studio in Brunswick, where she also hosts workshops. She presents her work acorss Melbourne including Shop and Brew and Mciver Market, 2026.
