RUBY-JEAN WHITEHEAD

Ruby-Jean Whitehead is a Narrm/Melbourne-based ceramic artist whose practice explores fragility, tension and material contradiction.

Working primarily in ceramics, she experiments with form and surface to create sculptural works that balance delicacy with sharp, spiked interventions. Metallic glazes and tactile surfaces heighten the contrast between vulnerability and strength. Her practice examines how ceramics can embody both playfulness and resilience through material disruption.

Whitehead completed a Diploma of Ceramics in 2023 and now teaches full time in studio. Her exhibitions include Xflos, and a residency at Northcote Pottery Supplies in 2025.
