LAURA DE CARTERET

Laura de Carteret is a French-Australian artist based in Narrm/Melbourne working across glass-blowing and metalsmithing. Their practice explores material dualities, transformation and alchemical process through sculptural, biomorphic forms.

Combining blown glass with forged metal, de Carteret creates works that examine containment, tension and fragility, often evoking ritualistic or otherworldly qualities. Their process-led approach emphasises material responsiveness and the interplay between structure and instability.

De Carteret holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Gold and Silversmithing from RMIT University and has exhibited with Melbourne Design Week, Craft Victoria and Stanley Street Gallery in Notes on Reciprocity, 2024.
